13th Son is no stranger to Australian Hip Hop. He began MCing in 92 at the tender age of 12 as part of the group ‘Industrial Dispute’ and just one year later he was seen gracing the stage with the likes of Def Wish Cast, 046 and The Noble Savages – all legends of the local scene then and now. His first release came shortly after with the Industrial Dispute cassette ‘Industrial Strength’ (1994) and following that spent the next few years appearing at various gigs around town and making a name for himself with his flawless flow and sophisticated style. By ’96 ‘Industrial Dispute’ had changed its name to Fathom and really turned the heat up taking Sydney by storm with the ’97 release of ‘The beats from 20,000 Fathoms’ on cassette. A few more standout appearances on compilations and supporting many fine international acts including Latyrx , Blackalicious and Mystik Journeyman led to the demand for some solo material and in 2000 13th Son released his debut 4 track EP ‘Always’ on Basic Equipment. Entirely produced by Sereck the EP received outstanding reviews far and wide and showed all that 13th Son could well and truly hold his own as a solo MC. Thirteen tracks including "The Hero", "Solar Flares", "I Can See The Sun", "Astarte", "Autumn", "Nimbus", "Short & Angry", "Nothing's Gonna Stop Me", "Symphony Of Man Part 2", "Getaway", "I Try", "The Come Up" and "The Trickster".
